Peony
This tutorial was written using PSP X3 but should work
in other versions with just a few adjustments.
Supplies:
peony.pspimage
Mask 20-20
Font Love_Light
The supplies you will find here
Put the mask in your PSP mask folder.
Open the font and minimize it.
Set your foreground to a very light color. I used #ffffff
Set your background to a light color. I used #d4d0c8
Set your foreground to the gradient foreground-background with these settings:
Style: sunburst
Repeats 9; Invert not checked;
Center Point: Horizontal 100; Vertical 100;
Focal Point: Horizontal 53; Vertical 66;
Link center and focal points not checked
Open a new transparent canvas, 640 x 480 pixels
Flood fill your image with the gradient.
Layers > Duplicate
Image > Mirror
Lower the opacity to 50.
Layers > Merge > Merge down
Acitivate your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add; Match Mode: RGB Value; Tolerance: 0; Contiguous checked; Feather: 0; Anti-alias checked; Inside
With your magic wand click in the white area in the middle.
Layers > New Raster Layer
Change your gradient to Style Linear

Flood fill the layer with the gradient - keep selected
Adjust > Blur > Radial Blur with these settings:
Blur type: Twirl
Blur: Strength 60; Twirl degrees 75; Elliptical checked
Center: Horzontal offset 80; Vertical offset -80; Protect center 0
keep selected
Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance More
Effects > Artistic Effects > Hot Wax Coating
Effects > Distortion Effects > Displacement Map with these settings:
Displacement Map: Zoom
Stretch map to fit image; Blur: 56
Displacement properties: 3D surface
Edge mode: Transparent
Selections > Select None
Activate your bottom layer
Effects > Artistic Effects > Hot Wax Coating
Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance
Open peony.pspimage
Activate the layer peony
Edit > Copy
Activate your top layer in your main image
Edit > Paste As New Layer
Effects > Art Media Effects > Colored Pencil with these settings:
Detail: 70; Opacity: 50
Lower the opacity to 30
Back to peony.pspimage
Close the layer tube_peony
Make sure that your layer peony is still activate
Image > Split Channel > Split to RGB
Delete the blue and the green one.
We will work on the red one.
Lower the opacity to 60
Effects > Texture Effects > Fur with these settings:
Blur: 64; Density 85; Length 28; Transparency 95
Effects > Edge Effects > Enhance More
Layers > New Raster Layer
Change your foreground to your foreground color
Flood fill this layer with your foreground color
Lower the opacity to 60
Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds with these settings:
Width: 2; Opacity: 70; Color: #808080; Horizontal checked
Layers > Merge > Merge Down
Edit > Copy
You may close this image now
Back to your main image
Edit > Paste As New Layer
Lower the opacity to 40
Layers > New Raster Layer
Flood fill this layer with your background color
Selections > Select All
Selections > Modify > Contract - 2 Pixel
Click the delete key on your keyboard
Selections > Modify > Contract - 5 Pixel
Flood fill the selection with your background color
Selections > Modify > Contract - 2 Pixel
Click the delete key on your keyboard
Selections > Select None
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow with these settings:
Offset: Vertical 1; Horizontal 1
Attributes: Opacity 80; Blur 1,00; Color: your background color
Repeat the Drop Shadow with Vertical -1; Horizontal -1
Layers > Duplicate
Close the copy of Raster 5
Activate the layer Raster 5
Effects > Distortion Effects > Warp with these settings:
Center Offset: Horizontal -22; Vertical -35
Settings: Size 60; Strength -100
Layers > Duplicate
Image > Mirror
Image > Flip
Layers > Merge > Merge Down
Lower the opacity to 30
Open the copy of Raster 5 and activate this layer
Back to peony.pspimage
Open the layer tube_peony and acticate this layer
Edit > Copy
Back to your main image
Edit > Paste As New Layer
Layers > Load / Save Mask > Load Mask From Disk with these settings:
Layers > Merge > Merge Group
Layer > Duplicate
Activate the layer Group - Raster 6
Effects > Texture Effects > Mosaic Glas with these settings:
Grid settings: Nummers of columns: 58; Numers of rows 79; Symmetric not checked
Mosaic settings: Glass curvature 91; Edge curvature 84; Grout width 1; Grout diffusion 98
Lower the opacity to 50, change the blend mode to Luminace (Legacy)
Activate your top layer
Close your foreground color
Change your background color to #b6070f
Activate your text tool with these settings:
Font Love; Size 60; Units Pixels; Font style Bold; Create as Vector
Write your text in the lower right area (see example for placement)
Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow with these settings:
Offset: Vertical 1; Horizontal 1
Attributes: Opacity 80; Blur 1,00; Color: your background color
Layers > Duplicate
Activate the original layer of your text
Effects > Distortion Effects > Wind
Wind direction: From left; Wind strength: 100
Layers > Merge > Merge All
You are done - please add your watermark.
